I’m more than a little bit late with this one, I’m afraid. Let’s just get the ‘sorry’s out of the way first – sorry sorry sorry – so that we can carry on.
A few months ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Fashion Grads ‘Beauty Box Blogger Event’ in Preston. Having never been to a blogger event before (I know, such a newbie) I had no idea what to expect from the event, but I was excited nonetheless. Luckily, I’d arranged to meet with two other bloggers – Katy and Emma – beforehand so that none of us would have to show up alone.
The event, as mentioned, was kindly put on by Fashion Grads creators. When we got into the venue – Rift & Co. in Preston – the table was already set up, welcoming the bloggers with the sight of beauty boxes galore.
If you want to know a little bit more about Fashion Grads, here’s a little something they wrote;
“Fashion Grads is an online resource which provides careers guidance and support to students and graduates trying to break into the fashion industry. Whether you are looking to work in design, styling, photography, journalism, merchandising, marketing, or even starting your own business, then this is the place for you!”
We were gifted with some gorgeous nibbles and a free glass of champagne on arrival. They definitely know the way to a blogger’s heart! And I have to say, those sweet potato hash browns were to die for.
After some introductions and thanks, it was time to get down and dirty with the boxes. Mirrors, cotton pads, and makeup remover were all kindly supplied – and I think I can speak for all of us when I say that it was so fun to rummage around and try different bits and bobs from the boxes.
Starting off strong here with the Latest in Beauty Glamour Spring Beauty Box – worth £99! I think this was my favourite box by far, and I saw a fair few other bloggers nodding in approval too! MY favourite thing about this box was the amazing variety of products, and some pretty big-name brands were present too. In total there were 8 separate products, all of which I wouldn’t hesitate to go and buy for myself.
This pretty box was the You Beauty Discovery – not as many products with a total of 5 (including a Nakd bar… slightly out of place, but nice nonetheless). The big buzz about this box was the presence of rose gold eyelash curlers by The Vintage Company – so gorgeous!
The Love me Beauty box was next – containing two Nails Inc. Nail Polishes, Cailyn Cosmetics eyebrow gel, and Lord & Berry Lipstick. I didn’t try this one really, but that eyebrow gel looked pretty cool.
Next came the one I’ve heard the most about – Birchbox ‘Habitat’. The range of products was quite good with this one, and there was even a little Roller Lash included. This one caused a little bit of confusion though, with one chapter of a novel included in the box.
And last was the Look Fantastic box. This one was another great, with over £70 worth of products inside – including a Wet Brush, which was a well-received addition.
If you want to see a little bit more of the products (and the event in general) check out my video at the bottom.
I had a blast swapping recommendations with fellow bloggers – and drinking cute cocktails all the while. Afterwards, the event organisers split the contents of the box into a goody-bag for each of us. I was super surprised, and very grateful to the organisers for not only creating such a fun event, but also giving us a little something something to take home at the end of it all.
Thanks so much for having me, Fashion Grads! And thanks to all the lovely people I met on the night – hope to maybe see you all again one day.
P.s. I spent the night attempting to vlog the event. As my first vlog ever, it is not the best thing I’ve ever seen and I’ll definitely be fixing some major mistakes in my next videos. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it!
