Hello beautiful people!
It’s been quite a while since I last updated. The truth is that (as is usually the case with this kind of thing) life kind of got in the way. Since last updating, I finished some huge assignments at uni, got my results, graduated, and applied (and got accepted!) to a new course starting in September – but I’ll talk more about that another time. I know, the suspense is killing you, right? Wrong, probably, but it’s my life and I do what I want. Nerr!
Anyway, we have got to talk about this li’l guy. I’m pretty sure I must have been a cat in a past life, because cats seriously love me. I’m not just being narcissistic here – though of course who wouldn’t want to be loved by cats? – but they really do. For as long as I can remember, cats come running to me when I’m just walking down the street, and they purr and rub themselves on me when I’m sure we’ve never met. Maybe I just smell weird (?) but whatever.
I was (genuinely) walking home from a quick trip to Booths when this guy comes running out of nowhere, nuzzles my leg and begs for me to stroke him, so naturally I did. I’m all about that feline life! This cutie even followed me down the street for at least five minutes after we tried to leave. Bless his cotton socks.
In other news, these pants are THE most comfortable things I’ve ever worn. I’m not usually a pants kinda gal – my ‘uniform’ is usually a skirt and tights with some sort of top and a jacket – but, oh boy, do I love these things. What’s even better is that they were five English pounds from Primark. I’ve decided I’ll never be happy again until I own at least ten pairs of culottes!
Another recent purchase is this divine blue suede bomber jacket, which I’m pretty sure I got from Quiz. Another thing I never thought I’d see myself in, I avoided bombers like the plague despite their popularity in recent years. However I can safely say I am a total convert – this jacket makes any outfit look instantly amazing, and it’s the perfect weight for a Great British summer.
The bright yellow leather backpack is an old favourite, and unfortunately I got it at a farm show (is that what they’re called? I don’t even know), so you probably won’t be seeing it on a shelf in New Look any time soon. Or maybe you will – I don’t have a crystal ball, do I?
Safe to say it was a little windy when we took these. I haven’t taken any outfit photos for an absolute age, so it feels kind of weird to upload these! I’m pretty self conscious about my body (as many, many, many of us are), but I just had to bite the bullet and go for it. This is just how I look and it’s not necessarily worse or better than anyone else – in fact, let’s just stop comparing everyone shall we? The world would be a much happier place if we did! Embrace who you are and, yes, even show it off a little if you want. Whatever, right?
I leave you with this photo, which is currently gracing my Facebook profile picture box. The only way this photo could be more ‘me’ is if I was also holding a pizza.
